We've been scammed by this guest. Beware of a black american man, named Jarrell Marcel Booker and a filipina woman was with him. He booked our place for 5 nights (19,21 -25). He initially stayed at my place on the 19th for his 1st night.
Our process is always pay the 1k reservation or the whole amount if the client chooses it to be. The client paid through a bank transfer using WorldRemit to my BPI account. It was a mistake on my part for not asking him to pay in cash instead. He sent receipts as I kept asking for updates about the payment.
As this is my 1st time to encounter this kind of payment method, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and just trust that he is a good person. I asked other people who had experience with WorldRemit and they said the payment should've taken only a few minutes, and the website also validated that fact that it should've indeed been credited to my account within 2mins to 2hrs as BPI is a direct digital partner of WorldRemit. This is where my anxiety grew and decided this is ridiculous and I don't wanna deal with it, as he told me I'm gonna have to wait until Sep. 24 to receive the payment. Outrageous!
As he was about to check-out on the 20th for the next guest, I informed him that until now I still haven't received his payment and I don't wanna deal with him anymore so I cancelled his remaining booking for Sep. 21-25. He didn't reply and no protest was made further proving my anxiety that he is indeed a scammer.
Mr Booker should've atleast paid me for the 1 night stay of โฑ1,600, plus he brought 2 other people incurring a โฑ600 penalty for violating no visitors policy, upon check-out he incurred a few other violations of my house rules as late check-out at 9am instead of 8am โฑ150 penalty, leaving the AC on โฑ300 penalty, left garbage inside the unit and left unwashed dishes on the sink โฑ300 penalty. Making his whole stay worth โฑ2,950 including penalties.
Its a complete loss on my part but i was also blessed as he was not able to take more advantage of me as he was supposed to stay for 4 more days. I thank God for giving me wisdom to see through his lies.
May we all respect one another, and fight fairly as we all have financial burdens to bear. Taking advantage of people in this kind of economy is the work of the devil. God bless us all.
