Fox & The Firefly Cottages is a nature resort and the home base of SUP Tours Philippines that provides stand-up paddle tours in Bohol, Dumaguete, Palawan and Siargao. It is a little sanctuary for travellers who loves outdoor experiences located next to the Loboc River and central to other natural wonders like the Chocolate Hills, tarsiers and waterfalls. Enjoy hearty and healthy meals with plant-based options at Food & Fables Café. Our cottages are designed in the Filipino tradition of the ‘bahay kubo” with fresh interiors built in between old trees and tropical plants. We offer you a comfortable stay with our naturally-ventilated rooms, mosquito nets, hot & cold outdoor showers and fast and reliable WiFi in all areas.

We’re excited to open registration for our WATTLE & DAUB EARTHBUILDING WORKSHOP, a 7-day hands-on immersion into one of the world’s oldest natural building traditions.

📅 December 7–14, 2026
📍 Bohol, Philippines
👥 ONLY 15 PARTICIPANTS

Led by Australian architect and natural-building educator Rebecca Whan, this workshop invites you to slow down, get your hands in the earth, and discover how beautiful, functional structures can be created using natural and locally available materials.

🎋 Building and weaving with bamboo
🌍 Understanding and preparing earth for building
👐 Mixing clay, sand, fibre & water
🏗 Hand-applying and layering daub

✏️ Designing your own Wattle & Daub structure

And this isn’t just theory…

Together, we’ll actually build a Wattle & Daub structure from the ground up. 🙌🌱

No previous building experience is required.

Whether you’re an architect, designer, builder, artist, homesteader, eco-resort owner, sustainability advocate—or simply curious about learning to build differently—you are welcome.
