The Philippine Travel Agencies Association™ (PTAA) reiterated its call for Filipino travelers to be truthful about their travel intentions and to strictly comply with visa requirements during an interview with Wej Cudiamat on OFW Konek.
Dr. Evangeline Tankiang-Manotok, Past President and Chairman for International Affairs of PTAA, emphasized that visa compliance is a shared responsibility between travelers and travel agencies. She noted that agencies primarily rely on the documents and information provided by their clients when assisting with visa applications.
“...You can’t blame the travel agency alone. I think it should be a two-way responsibility. When we apply for a visa, we should be truthful about our travel intentions and requirements. Kami naman pong mga travel agencies, we are only relying on the documents and information provided by our clients,” Dr. Manotok said.
PTAA also remains in communication with its member travel agencies affected by the suspension of Korean visa accreditation. While the specific reasons for the suspensions have not been disclosed by the Korean Embassy, the association continues to encourage responsible and truthful travel practices among both travelers and industry stakeholders.
