🌄Successful Caving Day

The Municipality of Mabinay proudly celebrates a remarkable and successful Caving Day during the 21st Philippine Speleological Society National Cave Congress!

Participants experienced the breathtaking beauty and ecological significance of Mabinay CAVES . This activity showcased not only our stunning natural wonders but also our strong commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental conservation.

We are deeply honored by the presence of RD Gelena Asis-Dimpas, OIC-Regional Director of the Department of Tourism Region VII, whose support continues to inspire and strengthen our local tourism initiatives.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all organizers, caving guides, volunteers, and participants who made this event a success. Together, we continue to promote responsible caving and protect our natural heritage for future generations.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental, through the Provincial Tourism Office headed by Provincial Tourism Board Executive Director Woodrow Maquiling Jr., for generously donating 65 caving helmets and headlamps to the Municipality of Mabinay.

This invaluable support greatly enhances our capacity to promote safe and sustainable cave tourism, further strengthening Mabinay’s reputation as the Cave Capital of the Philippines. Thank you for your continued commitment to tourism development and community safety!

The Municipal Tourism Office successfully conducted the Formulation of the Baliw Cave Management Plan on March 11, 2026, in collaboration with local stakeholders and partner agencies.

The activity also included the identification of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) of Baliw Cave to guide the development of effective goals and objectives for the management plan. Through this framework, participants were able to assess current conditions, identify key challenges, and explore opportunities that will support sustainable tourism, conservation, and community involvement.

This collaborative effort highlights the commitment of the local government and the community to ensure the proper management, protection, and sustainable development of Baliw Cave for present and future generations. 🌿🏞️

The Municipal Tourism Office, together with stakeholders and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), successfully conducted the Formulation of the Baliw Cave Management Plan on March 10, 2026.

This activity marks an important step toward strengthening sustainable tourism, conservation of the cave’s natural resources, and active community participation in protecting one of the municipality’s valuable eco-tourism sites. Through collaborative planning and partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the initiative aims to ensure that Baliw Cave will continue to be preserved and responsibly managed for present and future generations.
