HALO DIVE RESORT JOINS CENTURY TUNA SAVING OUR SEAS YEAR 5 CLEANUP IN MABINI
MABINI, BATANGAS — September 26, 2026 — Halo Dive Resort joined fellow members of the diving and coastal community last Saturday, September 19, in the Century Tuna Saving Our Seas Year 5 Coastal and Underwater Cleanup, held in observance of International Coastal Cleanup Day in Mainit, Mabini, Batangas.
The cleanup brought together 109 divers, dive professionals, volunteers, boatmen, resort teams, and members of the local community, united by a shared commitment to protect the marine environment.
Together, the participants removed 50 sacks of plastic and other marine debris and 90 discarded fishing nets from coastal and underwater areas.
For Halo Dive Resort, being part of the initiative is a natural extension of its connection to the sea and the diving community of Mabini.
HALO: GIVING BACK TO THE OCEAN
As a dive resort in Mabini, Halo recognizes that the ocean is more than a destination for diving. It is home to marine life, a source of livelihood, and an important part of the local tourism community. The resort believes that enjoying the underwater world also comes with the responsibility to help protect it.
Through its participation in the cleanup, Halo joined fellow divers and organizations in doing something tangible for the waters that continue to bring people to Anilao and Mabini. “The ocean gives us so much. The least we can do is give something back.”
A PARTNER FOR CLEANER OCEAN
Halo extends its special appreciation to PADI Instructor Marivic Verdadero Maramot of Batangas Scuba Academy, for the partnership and for helping mobilize the local diving community for the underwater cleanup. Her efforts, together with those of the participating dive professionals, divers, boatmen, volunteers, and partner organizations, helped make the activity possible.
Halo also recognizes the collaboration of Century Tuna Saving Our Seas, HOPE: Business For Good Aling Tindera, Batangas Scuba Academy, The Pink Argonauts, Seaspring Resort, Aiyanar Beach and Dive Resort, and Philippine Red Cross in bringing the community together for the initiative.
MORE THAN JUST A DIVE RESORT
For Halo, marine conservation is closely connected to its purpose as a dive resort.
Every dive introduces guests to the remarkable marine life beneath Anilao's waters. Keeping those waters clean and healthy helps ensure that future divers, photographers, families, local communities, and marine life can continue to experience and benefit from the sea.
The cleanup also highlighted that removing existing waste is only one part of the solution. Preventing plastic and other waste from reaching the ocean remains essential to protecting marine ecosystems in the long term.
The Century Tuna Saving Our Seas Year 5 initiative served as a reminder that ocean protection requires collective action and that every diver, resort, business, boatman, resident, and visitor has a role to play.
