The Search for Mutya de Bagatao 2017 Guidelines and Mechanics
A. PAGEANT GUIDELINES
> Screening
1. The Search for Mutya de Bagatao 2017 is open for all gay beauty pageant enthusiasts aged 15 – 25 years old on the pageant. She must have at least five feet (5’ ft) in height. A candidate must submit a duly accomplished application form together with a certified true copy of a birth certificate and a registration fee of Php 100.00 on or before October 7, 2017.
2. The candidate must also possess a pleasing personality and a positive character to pass the screening procedures set by the pageant organizers.
> Exposures
3. Each candidate shall compete in the following major exposures.
3.1. Production Number - Highlights a choreographed dance number and a personal introduction of the candidates. The candidates shall be wearing pink and white shorts for this exposure.
3.2. Baladyo Attire - features the candidate in their glamorously chic wardrobe with their most hilarious props.
3.3. Bridal Gown - Features the candidates in their elegant bridal gowns.
3.4. Swim Suit – Candidates shall be in their two-piece (red, yellow, or blue) swim suit.
3.5. Evening Gown – Features the candidates in their classy evening gown.
3.6. Preliminary Interview – the contestants shall draw Hugot Lines to expound within 60 seconds. 3.7. Final Question and Answer Portion – Shall be answered only by the Top 5 Finalists. Contestants shall draw the number corresponding to the member of the Board of Judges. The Judges shall ask questions to the contestants.
> Criteria for Judging
4. The exposures shall be given scores according to the following criteria:
4.1. Production Number

Stage Deportment = 30
Confidence = 30
Over-All Impact = 10
4.2. Baladyo Attire
Creativity = 25
Uniqueness = 25
Stage Deportment = 20
Wit (Aliw Factor) = 30
4.3. Bridal Gown
Elegance = 30
Appropriateness = 20
Stage Deportment = 40
Over-All Impact = 10
4.4. Swim Suit
Physique = 30
Suitability = 20
Poise & Bearing = 40
Over – All Impact = 10
4.5. Evening Gown
Elegance = 30
Appropriateness = 20
Stage Deportment = 40
Over-All Impact = 10
4.6. Preliminary Interview
Clarity/Coherence of Thought = 40
Delivery / Confidence = 40
Beauty & Wit = 20
5. The ranking earned by the contestants in the (1) Production Number, (2) Baladyo Attire, (3) Bridal Gown, (4) Swim Suit, (5) Evening Gown and (6) Preliminary Interview shall be computed to select the Final 5.
6. Once the Top 5 Finalists are chosen, their scores are automatically adjusted back to zero. Their previous scores shall no longer have bearing in the selection of the winners. Thus, they shall be adjudged based on the following criteria:

> Awards & Prizes
7. The minor and special awards shall be announced after the Modern Filipiniana competition. The awards are as follows:
7.1. Minor Awards
7.1.1.) Best in Production Number
7.1.2.) Best in Baladyo Attire
7.1.3.) Best in Bridal Gown
7.1.4.) Best in Swim Suit
7.1.5.) Best in Evening Gown
7.2. Special Awards:
7.2.1.) Best in Ramp – based on the scoresheets by the Board of Judges.
7.2.2.) Miss Photogenic - shall be chosen by the photographer(s) / organizers
7.2.3.) Darling of the Crowd – receives the largest point for the Audience Impact.
7.2.4.) Shadow Queen of the Night – the candidate who is confidently dark and
beautiful.
7.2.5.) Ms. Milky White – the candidate who has the fairest skin complexion and is
confidently beautiful.
7.2.6.) Ms. Barako Queen – the candidate with physique that is most fit.
8. The Pageant titles that shall be won, including the prizes at stake, are as follows:
