A mall might offer a place to shop, but mangroves offer a place to live. Let's choose natural coastlines over reclaimed concrete. 🌳

Thank you Iloilo for thinking that one sequesters carbon; the other just sells things.

Iloilo City just told developers to step away from the shoreline.

No reclamation or building within 100 meters of the coast.

The city is betting that mangroves are worth more standing than another strip of concrete when the next storm comes looking for land.

Stay closer to nature at Haruhay Eco-Beach Tavern in Camiguin. 🌴

Maraming choices kung saan pwedeng tumuloy sa Camiguin—may budget, mid-range, at may medyo mahal din.

Pero kung budget-conscious ka at ang hanap mo lang ay tahimik, malinis, at decent place to stay, stay in this resort.

Meron silang 3 nipa-style cabins na lahat ay fan rooms, pero hindi naman mainit during our stay. Paglabas mo, may direct beachfront access ka na, maraming puno, at gigisingin ka pa ng huni ng mga ibon—literal na sila ang magiging alarm clock mo. 🐦

Everything is basic and nothing fancy. It’s a clean place to sleep with a hot shower, a comfy bed, and absolutely nothing to complain about for only ₱1,500 per night for 2 people—may kasama pang coffee available sa room niyo! ☕️

At bonus pa—dito mo rin matatagpuan ang first and only vegan restaurant sa buong isla, which is absolutely the best place to eat in Camiguin! (I will talk more about their in-house restaurant on a separate post, so stay tuned!). 🍽️

The owner, Potpot, will make sure you have a comfortable stay. Plus, kung may mga tanong kayo about Camiguin, he is the best person to talk to—he can arrange everything for you!
