Yes, we get the occasional rain shower, but it’s usually quick, refreshing, and far from ruining any plans💦🧜🧜‍♀️

In fact, many days during this period are absolutely perfect for being out on the water or just enjoying island life. The ocean stays warm, the visibility is great, and conditions are often surprisingly good for diving! On top - the best sunsets happen during this time of year! 🌅

So if you’ve been told to avoid this time of year—think again!
The Visayas doesn’t always follow the “rules” of a typical rainy season 🏖️🌊

Great dives, perfect weather, and a brilliant British crew making the most of every moment!

The reef has been full of colour, and conditions couldn’t have been better for this great group — clear water, calm seas, and easy diving all round. 🌊🐠

Between dives it’s sunshine, salt air, sea breeze, and plenty of laughs, with that relaxed island rhythm that keeps everything simple.

Ocean days done right — hard to beat days like these. 🌊✨

Away from the lingering chill of late winter in Finland, Erno and his friends traded negative temperatures for the warm, electric blues of Moalboal.

Sun-drenched days, salt in the air, and dives that delivered—from vibrant reefs to swirling marine life—every moment hit that sweet spot between thrill and total relaxation. This is what hitting “reset” really looks like.

Sea, sun, and a whole lot of bubbles… Moalboal never disappoints 🌊🌞🐠

This week’s double-take mystery fish is the 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐛-𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐛𝐲 (𝑺𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒖𝒔 𝒃𝒊𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒔), also known as the 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧-𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭 or 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐛𝐲! 👀✨

Well done to everyone who recognized those unmistakable “extra eyes” — definitely one of the reef’s most stylish illusions.

💡 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐛-𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥:
• 𝐄𝐲𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 — Those bold spots on the dorsal fin mimic eyes, helping confuse predators and giving rise to its quirky name. 👀
• 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 — Almost always seen in pairs, these gobies move, feed, and even rest together in perfect synchrony.
• 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝-𝐬𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐬 — They constantly scoop up mouthfuls of sand, filtering out tiny food particles before spitting the sand back out — like tiny underwater vacuum cleaners.
• 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 — Instead of darting around, they hover smoothly just above the seabed, creating a calm, almost hypnotic movement.
• 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐮𝐩 — When alert, they raise their dorsal fins, showing off those eye spots even more clearly — a clear “don’t mess with me” display.

If you’ve ever watched a pair at work, you know how mesmerizing they can be — reef teamwork at its finest. 💛

This week’s mystery fish is a tiny sand-sifter with a look that’s guaranteed to make you do a double take.

Gliding gracefully just above sandy bottoms, this little duo-lover is almost always seen in pairs, moving in perfect harmony as they sift through the sand for tasty bits.

Elegant, synchronized, and just a little bit confusing…
