The PLC HIKING TRAIL: Tres Marias Waterfalls
- 4 km Beach-Streams-Waterfalls loop
- 1.5 to 2 hours hiking time
- Beginner trail with rolling paths, shaded views, safety markers & rest areas
- Designed by the UP Mountaineers
What to Bring:
- Non-slip hiking sandals or boots
- Outdoor wear
- Hat or sun visor
- Insect repellant & sunscreen
- Watering can
- Visit the gift shop for wooden hiking sticks (recommended)
- If applicable & allowed by doctor: Asthma inhaler or personal medicines
- Hiking guide is equipped with First Aid Kit
Nature Rules:
- No throwing of any trash along the way
- No vandalism on rocks & trees
- Pick up any human made trash and bring back: “konting basura, ibulsa muna”
What to Expect:
- Giant Alalanghar Trees: which are hundreds of years old, about 100-150 feet tall, with tree base resembling “dinosaur claws” and home to monkeys & civets
- Flora & Fauna: Various Wild Flowers & Mushrooms
- Sounds of Birds: Luzon Bleeding Heart Dove, Kingfisher bird and The Red Jungle Fowl.
- Endemic Wildlife: Civet Cats or Musang, Monkeys, Wart Hogs, Monitor Lizards, Labuyo Chickens and Pyhtons
- 3 Waterfalls: the reward at the end of the trail, expect the strength to dramatically increase during the Habagat or Rainy Season, check the colorful Mineral Formations on the rock face, dip in the Shallow Pools & stay under a Waterfall

- Historical Tourism: PLC was a battle site during World War 2
- Called the Mauban Defense Line, Filipino & American soldiers defended positions against the invading Japanese.
- In previous years, relics & canyon shells have been found & turned over to the authorities
