s not mean exclusive use; rather, a maximum number of passengers is required for the boat to embark, following the capacity set by the MARINA and monitored by the Coastguard. Did you know that, per recent instructions by the DOT-Oslob with an effectivity date of June 1, 2022, Sumilon Island Sandbar No Operation now occurs every third Wednesday of the month? This is from every Wednesday of every week. This has led to a better and more spontaneous itinerary. The No Operation Third Wednesday allows the Barangay Bangcogon, the stewards of the island, to conduct a Coastal Clean-Up for the island to breathe and have a restful break. We are with them in conserving Mother Earth. During these clean-ups, our boats are available to the barangay.
2. Did you know that the Sumilon Island Sandbar is a shifting sandbar? Yes, this is because of monsoons (Amihan and Habagat). The reversing winds and tide patterns create horizontal and/or vertical formations of the sandbar.
