Virgin Island sa Bohol, Hingpit nang Buksan pagbalik, karong Lunes, Pebrero 2!

Gipaabot nga dagsaon og balik sa mga turista ang bantog nga Virgin Island (nailhan usab nga Puntod Island) sa lungsod sa Panglao sa iyang opisyal nga pag-abli og balik karong Lunes, Pebrero 2.

Human sa taas nga panahon nga gipailawom sa rehabilitasyon, andam na usab ang maong destinasyon sa pagdawat og mga bisita ubos sa mas estrikto nga mga regulasyon aron maseguro ang proteksyon sa palibot.

Ang kagamhanang probinsiyal sa Bohol, uban sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), nagpahibalo nga ang pag-abli maglakip sa bag-ong mga "guidelines" alang sa mga boat operator ug mga turista aron malikayan ang pagbalik sa mga nangaging problema nga hinungdan sa pagpasira niini.

Ang Virgin Island temporaryo nga gipasirad-an niadtong Septyembre 9, 2024, tungod sa grabe nga kadaot sa mga gasang (corals) sa Estaca snorkeling site.

Ang maong desisyon gihimo human nag-viral sa social media ang mga hulagway sa mga coral nga gipamarkahan o gi-vandalize og mga ngalan sa mga turista, nga giingong gihimo sa pipila ka mga dive guide.

Gawas sa vandalism, gipasira usab ang isla tungod sa mga taho sa ilegal nga pagpangolekta og mga bayranan gikan sa mga turista ug ang kakuwang sa husto nga sistema sa pag-angkla sa mga bangka nga nakatunob ug nakaguba sa marine ecosystem. Ang kapin sa usa ka tuig nga pagsira nagsilbi nga panahon sa pagpahulay ug pagpaayo sa kinaiyahan ubos sa pagdumala sa Protected Area Management Board (PAMB).
