This monthโs effective rate for on-grid residential customers is โฑ๐ญ๐ญ.๐ด๐ณ๐ฌ๐ฐ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐-๐ต๐ผ๐๐ฟ (๐ธ๐ช๐ต), which is higher by โฑ๐ญ.๐ฌ๐ณ๐ฐ compared to last monthโs โฑ10.7964 per kWh. The increase is primarily due to higher cost of electricity purchased from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), which is beyond BOHECO I's control but directly affect electricity rates.
Here is the breakdown of your electricity bill:
๐ต๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ฌ (๐ฑ๐ต%) goes to our power suppliers: Cebu Energy Development Corporation (CEDC) and Energy Development Corporation (EDC), WESM and Net Metering.
๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ต๐ฐ (๐ต%) is paid to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) for transporting electricity from power plants to our BOHECO I substations. While this charge remains relatively stable, it may change if NGCP adjusts its rates.
๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฎ (๐ฑ%) accounts for the unavoidable energy losses that happen during the transmission of electricity. This is paid to our suppliers.
๐ฒ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ต (๐ญ๐ฑ%) directly supports BOHECO Iโs operational efficiency in providing power to your homes, businesses and essential services. These charges are strictly regulated by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and have been remained unchanged since 2007. BOHECO I cannot change them without ERC approval.
๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ (๐ฐ%) is collected by BOHECO I but specifically used for constructing substations and other critical infrastructures to ensure a reliable and stable power supply. This charge is also regulated by the ERC and BOHECO I cannot adjust it without the approval from the ERC.
๐ฒ๐ญ๐ฑ๐ญ (๐ฑ%) is the Value Added Tax (VAT) that goes directly to the government.
๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ฌ๐ฒ (๐ฑ%) are payments to government entities like PSALM and TransCo, along with subsidies for Lifeline Consumers and Senior Citizens.

1. BOHECO I uses the ERC approved formula under its PSA when computing power rates.
2. All components of the power rates, except for DSM and RFSC charges that go directly to BOHECO I, are pass-through charges.
This means that BOHECO I act as collector of these charges and remits them to the intended entities to maintain a supply of safe, reliable and high-quality electricity.
