There are two kinds of rooms here, and guests have strong opinions about which is better.

The Deluxe Rooms have a private balcony — the one you step out onto with coffee before anyone else is up, and again at sunset.

The Premiere Rooms look out on the patio and the pool — you're in the water before you've fully decided to be.

Both are good. But here's the honest part: the long weekend at the end of the month means one of them will go first, and once it's gone you don't get to choose.

October gives you four ordinary weeks, then saves its only long weekend for the very end: Saturday, October 31 to Monday, November 2.

Most people will spend the month waiting for it. You don't have to.

The ordinary weeks are the good ones. Weekday rooms are easy to get, the island isn't crowded yet, and the hills inland are still green from the rains.
