La Paz, Suba, Onse Reef and Culili Point together form the Ilocos Norte Sand Dunes, which span nearly 2,000 hectares (20 square kilometers) and are recognized as the only desert in the Philippines.

A rare tropical desert, these vast rolling sands are shaped by strong coastal winds and the West Philippine Sea, creating a dramatic landscape found nowhere else in the country.

Beyond its natural wonder, the dunes offer unforgettable experiences—4x4 and ATV rides across the sands, sandboarding down steep slopes, peaceful sunset viewing, and scenic photography that highlight their ecological and cultural importance.

The Suba Sand Dunes hold special significance as a filming location of the iconic movie Himala, and this cinematic legacy continues through the annual Himala sa Buhangin Art and Music Festival, where art, music, and culture come together against the stunning desert terrain of Ilocos Norte.
