32 Private

Rooms with 5 Rates P400 to P1000 - No Two Rooms the Same 24 Hour Check-in and Airport Service, From 6AM to 12 Midnight

Manila has 4 Airport terminals:
Option 1 ) TAXIS from: NAIA 1( mostly Foreign International Airlines / Taxi Meter Fare P90 to P110), NAIA 2( mostly Philippine Airlines Taxi Fare 90 to P110), NAIA 3 (mostly Cebu Pacific Airlines & Discount airlines booked on-line / Taxi Fare P120 ) andNAIA 4 ( mostly AirAsia & Tiger Airlines) / Taxi Meter fare only P75 to P85) The Towhouse airport service when we hire a new driver is P180 / 1,2 or 3 persons, P250 /4, 5 or 6 persons from 6AM to 12 PM Midnight. Add P50 for our driver waking up between 12:01AM Midnight and 5:59AM. Please Take Note: do not expect Manila taxi drivers to know where you are going as maybe 50% are from the provinces and the other 50% are from 1 of Metro-Manila's 16 cities so have little or no idea about the landmarks in the other 15 cities. Try to avoid taking parked taxis as they tend to waiting for a victim to over charge so take taxis in motion who tend to be more honest and too busy working honoring the taxi meter fare. Take my wife's advice: If taxi driver attempts to over charge you, upon arrival walk through our Townhouse hotel / Hostel Manila front entrance gate, lock it then hand the right payment listed above so the taxi can get angry instead of you and instruct him to go file a barangay complaint or to the police; what do you think the consequences will be when he complains saying I tried to over charge them for P500 and they refused to pay? Option 2 ) walk outside NAIA 1 terminal to the right down the ramp to the small Roofed "Bus" Stop or from NAIA 2 walk to the left and ask guards where to take the Jeepney "MIA Terminal 1-2" sign on windshield or signage on side of the jeepney body "Baclaran NAIA Domestic MIA" which also passes by NAIA 4 in front of termninal exit on "Domestic Road" ( no signage ). the jeepney will turn left on Airport Road's round-a-bout go straight to first stoplight at Quirino Ave, turn left , go straight, pass a Petron Gas Station on the right ( get out on 2nd street to the right, Bayview Drive but no signage )and the former Pearl Plaza Mini-Mall large building to the left, then knock on jeepney ceiling say "Para" meaning "stop, I want out" at JB Store on corner with big CAMEL Sign, walk straight 2 blocks ( 300+ meters withOUT paying attention to the locals . FROM NAIA 3, walk out the Exit Door to the left straight ahead maybe 6 minutes and look for a Jeepney that Says Baclaran MRT LRT at left side of round-a-bout and get out at Stoplights Roxas Blvd & Airport Road, walk 1 km up Roxas Blvd to your left to Villa Carolina Townhouse #31, It took me 36 minutes with a light daypack and I paid P7

Bill's Top 10 Travel Tips for Worldwide Travel and the Philippines! !
1.) Always carry small change in the local currency including Pesos, 5, 10, 20 and 50 coins & notes. That saves you the annoyance from the very common reply, "sorry no change".

2.) Ask someone about taxi or jeepney, tricycle fares BEFORE you get in. Pay and walk away. NEVER ask "How much?" because the price goes up. A Moving Taxi is too busy working so it's a better, more honest taxi and a parked taxi is waiting for victim. Tip the taxi driver P20 to P50 to reward him for not hassling you. Good Karma always comes back to you.

3. ) Never change money on the street nor inside a restaurant. You
will ALWAYS lose and usually almost half your money. These money
change scam artists can be Very good and show that the hand is always quicker than the eye.

4. ) Never gamble with Filipinos not pool, cards, chess or any game
for money and not even for drinks. It's safer not to gamble. It's one
example in life where when you win you lose and when you lose you lose.

5. ) Never raise your voice at a Filipino away from your own
neighborhood. Never call a Filipino "Stupid". They are very sensitive about it. If you do get angry and make the mistake. Please leave the place as soon as possible .Go Away Fast because you are in more DANGER than you realize. Filipinos do not like to fight and "fair fights" are not the custom, "fight to the end" can be.

6. ) Forget about the 2 words "Why" and "Should" or you get constant headaches trying to understand why things happen like they do in places outside your own country, especially the Philippines. Acceptance is the preferable attitude. There are too many things for you to question, so it's better for you not to start. So just relax and enjoy the positive aspects of your surroundings with a sense of humor.

7. ) Expect everything to be late and slow. Life stops at Lunc.
Schedules change and the weather is unpredictable. Telephones,
electricity, and water - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

8. Never accept drinks, candy, or fruit from strangers, especially
young women, anywhere in the world including Manila. In the past years a few of our guests have been drugged using the above methods after being met in Rizal Park, shopping malls, the open markets and even on the bus. We have never heard about this happening in other parts of the Philippines.

9.) Always wear a cloth type money belt which is worn around your waist under your clothes instead of those leather or vinyl pouch waist bags with several zippered pockets because psychologically they appear as you are advertising your valuables. It may seem a bit awkward to reach under the edge of your pants to get your money or travelers checks at a bank but it's Much Safer. Even when you drink or otherwise indulge in too much spending your money is much safer near your "- - - -"

10.) Don't Worry, Be Happy! :-)
We have these posted on the wall of our small hotel / hostel near the Manila airports but you could apply them them to many other developed countries as well.
