RENE SERNA is a highly regarded Filipino musician known for his dual career as a guitarist and a professional sound engineer. He is often described as a "seasoned session player" within the OPM industry.
Musical Career
Rene joined the band Agaw Agimat during its "4th Generation" reformation in 2016. He currently serves as the lead guitarist alongside founder Renmin Nadela, vocalist Wendy Villanueva, and bassist Adeng Maron.
Outside of Agaw Agimat, he has performed with high-profile artists, including Radha (of the group Kulay) and Arnel Pineda (vocalist of Journey).
He is a frequent performer at major local music events, such as the Dutdutan festival and various live club circuits in the Philippines.
Rene is an accomplished audio professional, often working out of Spryta Productions/Studio. His engineering credits include work for some of the most successful contemporary Filipino acts:
He served as the Recording Engineer for the hit song "Raining in Manila," by Lola Amour, which won Record of the Year at the 37th Awit Awards.
He is credited as a sound engineer on the 2019 album of Ben&Ben, Limasawa Street and has worked on specific tracks like "Roots."
He has been involved in technical production for Unique Salonga's projects under O/C Records.
