It all started with one sister’s quest to find a peaceful place to relax the mind, body and soul. She found it in Naonao Beach in the small village of Port Barton in San Vicente, Palawan. Siblings joined her with a brother in law to create a beachfront cottage resort. Each contributing with their own experience and expertise in Legal, Engineering, Travel Agency, Airline and Hospita

lity industries. And we selected and trained members of the local community to take care of our guests. We opened in November 2019 and closed for 2 years during the pandemic lockdowns and super typhoons. We reopened in March 2022 with renewed energy to welcome our guests like family in our island paradise home. Our guests have enJOYed their stay and have praised our team. Truly, mariejoy stays in your heart because at mariejoy we are family!

Calm and Serenity.

Recently, Nico and Sara from France 🇫🇷 described their stay as “calm and serenity”, and we couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to capture what we hope every guest feels when they arrive. Paradise!
There’s nothing more meaningful to us than hearing how our guests truly felt during their stay. 💛

James & Kristen, a young couple from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, rated us a perfect 10 and shared words that truly moved our entire family - a review that truly touched our souls and will stay in our hearts forever. After nearly three months of traveling Southeast Asia, they told us that mariejoy haven was their favorite stay of all.

A golden moment

Last night, something truly magical happened on our shores 🌊🐢

As the moonlight kissed the sand, hundreds of baby green sea turtles emerged and began their first journey to the ocean—right here on our beach. No crowds. No noise. Just nature, uninterrupted and exactly as it has been for generations.

Moments like this remind us why we call this island home. Our resort isn’t just a place to stay; it’s part of a living, breathing ecosystem where wildlife still feels safe enough to return, year after year. The sight of these tiny hatchlings finding their way to the sea is a quiet but powerful sign of an unspoilt paradise—one we are deeply proud to cherish, care and protect.

“+ Evy + the family were an absolutely wonderful host and made us feel at home! Before we arrived, Evy very kindly organised all of our transport (bus, tuk tuk and boat) to the accomodation and made us feel right at home upon our arrival.

Located right on the beach, the resort’s location is idyllic and we were so glad to have stayed there, as opposed to the Port Barton town! We would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to switch off and be in nature for a few days.

We would describe the stay as recharging and soul nourishing.

We loved spending time playing with the kids at the resort and doing local activities - thanks Evy for organising this for us! Evy made lovely food (her spring rolls in particular were amazing!!).

All the staff were so attentive and cared about our experience. We look forward to coming again, and recommending mariejoy to all our family and friends home in Australia :)”
