At Atlantis, we take safety very seriously: Every six months, our Dive Team and Dive Crew participate in a dedicated Rescue Day that includes:

- swim test
- emergency O2 exercises
- general first aid exercises
- CPR & AED use
- surfacing an unconscious diver and egress to boat then to shore exercise
- knot tying exercises
- written exam

This is group 1 in Puerto Galera, ready to start their Rescue Day!

We are so lucky—and grateful—to have talented photographers and videographers dive with us and share their work.

and recently spent a week in Puerto Galera and captured so many fantastic images of our local critters. We particularly love this video.
How special is this???

We also loved Stephen's commentary: "Ended our trip to Atlantis Dive Resorts & Liveaboards in Puerto Galera with a bang. At the end of our last dive, a blackwater dive, our eagle-eyed guide Jomar Mercado Lopez spotted a juvenile African Pompano near the surface. What ensued was three minutes of clown show as two divers who had already completed their shallow safety stop chased a tiny fish all over the ocean. Thank Goodness it cooperated with us!"

We would love to have a video of that "clown show". No doubt many divers can relate! 😉

The diving around our resorts is very diverse, combining areas of vibrant coral reefs with world-class muck diving.

Our muck dive sites are particularly popular with underwater photographers and macro enthusiasts. What may look like a sandy slope at first glance is actually home to an amazing array of critters. Frogfish, seahorses, ghost pipefish, octopuses, nudibranchs, and many other critters can be found here. Every dive offers the possibility of seeing something new and unexpected.
