I didn’t come to El Nido to heal. I just needed to get away,clear my head, hit pause, maybe outrun the noise in my chest. But you know how it goes… you pack your bags thinking you’re just taking a break, and next thing you know, the sea starts mending things you didn’t even know were broken.At first, I was just going through the motions. Wake up, grab coffee, stare at the ocean like it had answers. Then one morning, I caught myself humming,no music playing, just me. It hit me like a gentle wave,I hadn’t done that in months.Somewhere between boat rides and quiet sunsets, I started letting go. The ache didn’t vanish overnight, but it loosened its grip. I stopped picking at old wounds and let the saltwater sting do its work. They say time heals all, but honestly? It was the stillness here that did the trick. The way the mountains just stand,unbothered, grounded. I wanted that.Now, when I walk along the shore, it’s not to escape anymore. I’m just… here . And that’s enough.Healing didn’t come loud or fast. It came like El Nido..slow, steady, and without asking permission.
