Have a little time to read about Phililippine cuture and lives!
Many people ask why we hang a "Carabao" (water buffalo) skull in front of our shop...
The Carabao (bubalus bubalis) is the national animal of the Philippines. Carabaos are essential animals specially to farmers as an aid in the rice fields by plowing the soil or harvesting the crops. They are also very useful as a mode of transportation and a source of meat, milk, and raw materials for furniture.
The carabao symbolizes loyalty, power, strength, efficiency, perseverance and most of all, it symbolizes the Filipinos hard work.
In some parts of the country hanging a Carabao skull outside the house means an honor to the faithful animal like a totem and also calling the spirit for protection.
