The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has issued a stern warning to the public following the reported spread of the deadly “box jellyfish” or “sea wasp” in several coastal waters across the country this summer season.

BFAR Fishery Officer Joel Malabanan urged residents and tourists, particularly those planning to swim at beaches, to exercise extreme caution against the highly venomous marine creature.

According to BFAR, the box jellyfish is nearly transparent and difficult to spot in the water as it resembles floating plastic. It is commonly found in shallow coastal areas and tropical regions such as the Philippines. | via Dennis Nebrejo/PIA

Nakamit ng Puerto Princesa ang ikalawang pwesto sa "Best Cities in the Philippines" ng World Travel Index ngayong Abril 2026 taglay ang score na 74.68.

Batay sa pag-aaral ng World Travel Index, nanguna ang lungsod dahil sa abot-kayang gastos, maigting na seguridad, world class quality na mga aktibidad at imprastraktura.

Ang nasabing pagkilala ay patunay sa patuloy na pag-angat ng Puerto Princesa bilang isang progresibo, ligtas, at world-class na destinasyon para sa mga lokal at dayuhang turista.

Samantala nanguna sa listahan ang Davao City na nakakuha ng 75.66 na rating.
