Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of the Sagada Revised Tourism Code of 2022 on "Closure of Sites", let it be known, that:

SUMAGUING CAVE shall be CLOSED to any tourism activity for the whole month of September 2025.

Said closure is to allow the rejuvenation of the cave and in consideration of the weather situations that regularly happen every year (during this month).

𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬

This is to inform the general public that the Department of Tourism – Cordillera Administrative Region (DOT-CAR) has received numerous complaints against Kadulaan Travel and Tours, Ltd., a travel agency with a registered office at Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City. It has come to the attention of the Department that the agency is also operating from Unit 504, National Life Building, Session Road, Baguio City, an office that is not covered by its current DOT accreditation.

In line with its mandate to uphold the integrity of the tourism industry in the Cordilleras and to protect the interests of the public, the DOT-CAR has initiated and is actively pursuing investigative and administrative proceedings against the said travel agency.

Despite repeated efforts to contact the agency, no response has been received from Kadulaan Travel and Tours, Ltd. Calls to their registered contact numbers remain unanswered, and a recent physical inspection of their listed office address revealed that the establishment is non-operational.

In view of these developments, the DOT-CAR hereby strongly advises the public to exercise extreme caution and to refrain from engaging in any transactions with Kadulaan Travel and Tours, Ltd. until such time that the matter is fully resolved and proper regulatory compliance is ensured.

This precautionary advisory is issued in the interest of public safety, consumer protection, and the orderly regulation of tourism services in the region.

ANG NAG-IISANG MOUNTAIN PROVINCE SA PILIPINAS

Formerly dubbed as " La Montañosa" by Spanish administrators for its mountainous terrain, Mountain Province lies in the heart of the Grand Cordillera, known to be the Philippine's biggest and highest chain of mountains.

The province is bounded on the North by Kalinga, on the south by Benguet and Ifugao, on the east by Isabela, and on the west by Ilocos Sur and Abra.

Mountain Province's total land area is 2,239.9 square kilometers, 23% of which are classified as alienable and disposable, and 77% as forest lands. Towering peaks and sharp ridges describe the central and western parts of the province, while gradually sloping and rolling foothills are the general features of the eastern towns.

Mountain Province is geo-politically subdivided into 10 municipalities and 144 barangays. As of May 2010, the total population of Mt. Province is 153,187 and a growth rate of 1.41 from 1990 to 2010. Agriculture is the main source of income with tourism providing a significant boost to its economy.

Although Bontoc is the province's capital, the town of Sagada is more famous among tourists. Its rice terraces, though lesser known compared to the Banaue rice terraces, are equally spectacular.

Whereas the walls of the Banaue's terraces are of compacted earth, Sagada's walls are small rocks laboriously piled one on top of the other. The town is also known for its limestone caves that served as burial grounds during the pre-Christian Sagada era.

𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐌 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘: 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

This is to lift all advisories issued in relation to the effect of Typhoon in the municipality of Sagada.

All tour activities resume today. While operations resume, please do your tours with caution. The grounds are slippery after the typhoon.

This advisory takes effect immediately - July 21, 2025.

The Wild Side of Sagada 2025 Adventure Race:

For this year's Adventure Race, in partnership with Sagada Tourism, we will be bringing the wild to the mild in celebration of Sagada's Tourism Month. Stations shall be strategically placed around the town - no locations too remote.

Scheduled on September 27, 2025, participants shall navigate on foot through various stations featuring physical challenges, mental puzzles, and skill-based tasks along Sagada's scenic routes and back alleys.

This race is designed for adventurous beginners and experienced outdoor enthusiasts alike. You don't need to be an elite athlete; just bring enthusiasm, a willingness to try new things, and basic fitness for hiking and running. The focus is on participation, teamwork, and having a great time. Challenging enough to be interesting, accessible enough for everyone to succeed.

Scheduled power interruption in Mountain Province, parts of Baguio City, Benguet, Quirino & Cervantes, Ilocos Sur on Tuesday, 10 June 2025

Time: 6:00AM-10:00AM

Affected: MOPRECO and BENECO (North Sanitary Camp, Irisan, Atok, Sinipsip and Mankayan Substations)

Reasons:
1. Corrective works at La Trinidad Substation and along Mankayan-Sagada 69kV Line Segment
2. Testing of high voltage equipment and protective relays of La Trinidad-Sablan 69kV Feeder

Specific affected areas are determined by the electric cooperative. NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.
