All coastal barangays in the Island Garden City of Samal are advised to immediately vacate coastal areas and move to higher ground as a precautionary measure following the recent earthquake.

This directive is issued to ensure the safety of all residents in case of possible unusual sea level changes or tsunami threats.

Please remain calm, stay alert, and cooperate with your Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMCs) and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) for guidance and evacuation procedures.

All ferry barges, launch boats, and tour boats are temporarily suspended as directed by the Philippine Coast Guard.

This suspension is implemented to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew following the recent earthquake.

UPDATE ON 𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄

In line with the Damosa Land 5150 Triathlon Samal, and pursuant to City Ordinance No. 471, Series of 2025, please be informed of the update on road closures and ferry boat operations in the Island Garden City of Samal:

📅 September 20, 2025 (Saturday)
🕓 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Event: Bigiw Fun Run
🔒 Road closure: From Bridgeport, Barangay Caliclic to Costa Azalea, Barangay Limao

📅 September 21, 2025 (Sunday)
🕒 3:00 AM – 12:00 NN
Event: 5150 Triathlon
🔒 Road closure: Entire stretch from Rotunda, Barangay Kinawitnon passing through Caliclic, Limao, Catagman, and San Miguel up to SIMC Gas Station, Barangay Peñaplata via the circumferential road.

FERRY BOAT AND MOTOR BANCA OPERATIONS
Please be advised that ferry boats of MAEWESS, DavSam, and motor banca operations will REMAIN OPEN on September 20-21, 2025.

Motorists and the riding public are advised to take alternate routes and plan their trips accordingly. The City Government of Samal seeks your kind cooperation and understanding for the success of this international sporting event.
