A room was prepared.
A schedule was blocked.
Trust was given.
Running a small accommodation means valuing every reservation and every guest. Today, we were expecting 5 guests. When they arrived, the owner waited for about six minutes for them to step out of their car. When they finally came out, they told the owner they would just go to the market, but they didnโt even bring down their belongings or check inside of Alonica. An hour passed, they never came back. Later, we messaged them on Messenger to confirm if they would still proceed with their stay, but they said they had decided not to continue because our location did not match their expectations of a โresidential areaโ and claimed there was misrepresentation.
This truly hurts because, from the very beginning even during inquiries we clearly and repeatedly state that our place is located within a residential area. It is meant for guests seeking a simple, affordable, and comfortable stay, not a luxury experience. We have always been transparent. In our 3 years of operating, this is the first time weโve experienced something like this. Whatโs even more painful is being left without honesty.
Our rate is only โฑ1,500 for 2 pax (with free breakfast). For more than 2 pax, breakfast is no longer included, and each additional guest is โฑ450 per pax. Despite this, we already provide essential amenities, including free use of the kitchen, videoke, WiFi, and mineral water, while still covering our own costs. More than anything, our priority has always been the memories and experiences our guests create here at Alonica.
To our future guests, we kindly ask for your understanding. Please remember: we are within a residential area, not a resort or a hotel. Our place may be simple, but it is honest. We may not be perfect, but we never mislead. Truly, integrity costs nothing but apparently, not everyone chooses it.
For clarity, we only accept one booking a day so guests can have the entire place at Alonica exclusively to themselves.
