Central Luzon Drives Tourism Boom in La Union, Records PHP462-M in Receipts for H1 2024

La Union has recorded an impressive PHP462.2 million in tourism receipts for the first half of 2024, with 237,868 tourist arrivals from January 1 to July 15, according to the Provincial Tourism Office. A significant number of visitors hailed from Central Luzon, alongside those from Metro Manila, Ilocos, Calabarzon, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Tourists, predominantly young female adults, spent an average of PHP10,290 during their stay, with many opting for overnight accommodations in San Juan, Bauang, and San Fernando City. Notably, 63 percent of visitors were repeat tourists, averaging five visits, particularly during holidays and weekends.
