Port Barton, San Vicente, Palawan, Philippines
Port Barton is a village on the north-west coast of the island of Palawan in the Philippines. It's about 23km north-west of Roxas.
Port Barton is a quieter and more laid-back version of El Nido. The activities available here are half the price of doing the same thing in El Nido. Try snorkeling or island hopping. The beauty and clearness of the water is second to none. Scuba diving is also available.
Port Barton doesn't usually attract the affluent vacationers. Instead, it has become a popular choice for budget backpackers.
A good thing is that Port Barton is not as popular or developed as Boracay or even Puerto Galera. There are now regular van services between Puerto Princesa and Port Barton.
Port Barton is actually a stopover of those going to El Nido. Many people are so mesmerized by the beauty of Port Barton that they end up spending more days in Port Barton than El Nido. El Nido is crowded already unlike Port Barton.
Port Barton has more amenities than Poblacion (town proper) which makes it a great place to sleep over. Be sure to take a day tour of Long Beach, a 1 hour boat ride from Port Barton.
