I often tell people, here in the Philippines, carrying a bolo, itak, or machete isn’t just about work… it’s part of life.
In the provinces, these blades are used every day - to harvest crops, clear land, or build homes.
What many don’t realize is that our famous Filipino knife and sword fighting arts were born from this daily life. The same tools used for farming became the very weapons that shaped our martial heritage - efficient, practical, and deeply respected.
The itak is more than steel — it’s culture, survival, and discipline forged together.
🇵🇭 Respect the tool. Respect the people who use it.
