Every time I see this sign, paying my taxes feels just a little bit easier.
Itโ€™s a powerful visual reminder of a massive, long-term investment. So much potential is held within these two names: UP and Pisay (Philippine Science High School).
This investment isn't just about statistics or institutions; itโ€™s personal. As a proud parent, I see the result first-hand. My eldest graduated from the Pisay Calabarzon campus and is now thriving as a 2nd-year student at UP Diliman. My youngest is currently in Grade 8 at the Pisay Main Campus, following that same rigorous path.
We often look at these schools with awe, but the journey to get there is incredibly tough. The NCE (National Competitive Examination) for Pisay is exceptionally demanding.
That is why my encouragement to all parents is this: Do not wait. Invest early in your child's education.
The preparation doesnโ€™t start in Grade 6; it starts much earlier. By investing early in their foundational knowledgeโ€”especially in science and mathโ€”you are giving them the tools and the confidence to not just take the NCE, but to succeed in it. And from Pisay, the road to UP, and to a brilliant future, becomes so much wider and clearer.
