⚠️ BE CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING ALL-IN PACKAGES ⚠️
We are sharing this story not to spread hate, but to raise awareness and hopefully prevent this from happening to other travelers in the future. Vacations are supposed to be stress-free and memorable, but sadly, not everyone you meet online can be trusted. This is also a reminder to always book with legitimate and registered businesses to avoid being scammed.
First of all, thank you very much, Ma’am, for still choosing to stay at Foxtail despite the stressful experience you had with your all-in package booking. Even though the person you trusted caused so many problems, you still managed to stay positive and enjoy your vacation somehow. We also truly appreciate that you did not leave the hotel until everything was properly settled.
We would also like to remind everyone who is planning to book an all-in package vacation: please be careful and do proper research before sending payments. Make sure you are booking with a DOT-registered business and those with complete permits such as a BIR registration and business permit.
Our guests trusted someone and paid for their entire package in full, including additional payments. But when they arrived in Siargao, they discovered that their accommodation was not fully paid, no tours were arranged, and even the breakfast that was promised was not included. Instead of enjoying a hassle-free vacation, their trip became stressful and almost turned into a DIY experience because the money they paid was allegedly used for something else.
The saddest part was that instead of relaxing and enjoying their vacation, the guests had to deal with stress and uncertainty on their very first day. We spent the entire night trying to locate the person involved, and the matter even reached the police station. There were many excuses given — first saying his wife was sick, then later saying she was hospitalized, and asking us to wait until the next day for payment. With the help of the police, we searched for him, even going to the port just to find him. Thankfully, he was located, and the police also assisted us throughout the situation.
However, when we arrived at the police station, it turned out there was still no money available to settle the balance. The only thing surrendered was an iPhone 11 64GB, which was still not enough to cover the remaining accommodation balance and the money taken from the guests. We only got home around 2 AM, completely exhausted from the situation.
Thankfully, one of the companions of the guests was very understanding and kind enough to settle the remaining accommodation balance because they no longer wanted additional stress during their vacation. We are truly grateful for your patience and understanding, Ma’am.
We are sharing this story as a lesson and reminder for everyone to stay alert when booking trips online.
Siargao is such a beautiful island, but sadly there are still people who ruin its image. Please help protect our island for its future.
