I thought of keeping this, but they deserve this honest and long review for The Nest’s Cafe:
1. Adobo Flakes (P295) - the sauce has very bold and savory flavor, not too salty. Atchara is included, though I am not a fan, but it goes perfectly with the adobo flakes + egg + garlic rice. The serving is worth the price. Comfort food. 😌 💯
2. Chicken Cordon Bleu (P375) - cooked to perfection, generous with the chicken and stuffed cheese, plus the dipping sauce they serve is not the typical mayo-ketchup or mayo-garlic. The sauce has a hint of different kinds of cheese, like parmesan and/or a hint of blue cheese.
3. Ube Mochi Cheese Turon (P225) - the taste of Good Shepherd ube halaya (a staple here in Tagaytay), plus the generous cheese and the mochi inside, with half a foot size per turon, is very balanced. Perfect way to end a savory meal. Also comes with a light ube sauce, which I prefer more than a creamy and thick one which I think would be too much.
4. Banana Caramel Latte sub Soy Milk (P180+30) - I was expecting a banana flavored coffee like the taste of banana essence used in gulaman or the banana milk that can be bought in Korean stores, but it doesn’t even taste a bit like that. This one exceeded my expectation because they used cooked sweetened real banana and there were even some bits! I hope they keep this!
5. Sea Salt Chocolate sub Oat Milk (P160+50) - this one tastes like they didn’t use powdered chocolate, but if they do, it tastes like real chocolate to me. The sweetness doesn’t really overpower the taste because of the salt. Maybe this would taste better if it’s hot.
Went here for dinner, the vibe is relaxing with the sound of crickets. Definitely not the first and last time that we dine here. We will surely go back for a clear and bright view of the Taal Lake!
