STEADY ON | Congratulations to the Officers and Crew of BRP Conrado Yap (PS39), "The Warden of the North", for being adjudged as OCF "Warship of the Year" 2023.
Commander, OCF bestowed the prestigious award during the Offshore Combat Forceβs 35th Founding Anniversary at Naval Operating Base-Subic Guesthouse in Subic, Zambales last 30 March 2023.
For more than a year, PS39 performed its mandate during its deployment in the different Naval Operating Forces and delivered beyond expectations.
The ship's remarkable achievements include numerous maritime patrols and monitoring over maritime traffic in the WPS to both foreign and local flag vessels, ensuring freedom of navigation, rule of law, and compliance to international regulations. They also initiated and resumed the sustained patrols at Scarborough Shoal after more than a decade.
The continual logistics support missions transported troops, relief goods, and passengers, sustained the navy and marines on their deployment on different islands from KIG to the Northernmost part of Luzon.
PS39 also played a crucial role in International Defence and Security Engagements (IDSE) by rendering courtesies and conducting naval exercises to like-minded navies, strengthening diplomatic relations and promoting cooperation between nations.
Finally, PS39 actively participated in several Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations and CMO activities, including the transport and pre-positioning of relief goods in the remote islands up north, and demonstrating her high sense of duty by promptly responding to a sinking motor banca due to rough sea and strong winds in the waters off Zambales.
Congratulations to the entire crew of PS39 for their exceptional performance and dedication to duty. Her commitment to ensuring maritime security, diolomacy, humanitarian assistance and nation-building is truly outstanding. ππ
