How Did We Name Pinarasi Beach Resort?

The name Pinarasi is derived from both Asian and local dialects. It shares a phonetic similarity with Panarasi, a Thai word meaning "Full Moon" or “Kalakihan ng Buwan” in Tagalog. The term Panarasi appears in the legendary folktale of Princess Manorah of Thailand, known as a Kinnaree— a mythical creature, part human and part bird, called a “sisne” or “gansa” in Tagalog. In the story, the Kinnaree play in the lake within the mystical Himmapan forest during the full moon or Panarasi. During this time, Princess Manorah was captured by Prahnbun using a magical rope given by an old hermit and sold to Prince Suton of the Kingdom of Udon Panjah. Prince Suton, captivated by her beauty, eventually married Princess Manorah, and they lived happily ever after.

Pinarasi also originates from the local dialect of the villagers in San Antonio, Tinambac, a town in the southern part of Luzon, Philippines. The word is derived from "pinurusi" or “pusian" in Bicol, which describes the way large ocean waves break into smaller ones before reaching the shore.

The stunning view of Lamit Bay along the Pacific Ocean is especially enchanting during a full moon, and the locals have long referred to the area as Pinarasi, as it is considered the perfect place to witness the full moon. With its narrow, oval-shaped coastline, the bay also serves as an ideal spot for nighttime foraging.

Over time, the beauty of this area has been shared and appreciated by more and more people, allowing others to experience its natural splendor.

Listening to the sound of Pinarasi during Panarasi truly brings a sense of inner calm.
