Guardians of the Open Water:

We are reposting these incredible shots to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the ultimate unsung heroes of Dream Swim Calaguas 2026!

As captured, the amazing crew from the Bagasbas Surfers Club, Inc. stood tall with their surfboards, serving as our swimmers' real-time guardians out in the deep blue. Managing a major open water event requires an elite water safety team, and these local legends absolutely crushed their roles.

Here is how they kept our athletes moving strong from the starting horn to the final gate:

Securing the Perimeter: They maintained a watchful eye over the entire field, monitoring the pack closely to ensure every single swimmer was safe in the water.

Sighting & Navigation Support: With their expert knowledge of ocean currents, they helped guide athletes along the correct racing line, making sure no one strayed off-path or missed the crucial turn buoys.

On-the-Water Hydration: They were right there in the thick of the action, managing mobile fueling stations to make sure everyone stayed properly hydrated throughout their grueling 3K and 6K grinds.
