Hindukush Heights 🌿 Let our serene eco-friendly boutique hotel in Chitral & Mastuj be your doorway to the beauty & culture of the Hindukush Mountains 🏔️

Michael Palin in his book Himalaya writes “The Hindukush Heights hotel is set on the side of a hill with a fine view of the valley and Chitral town…. The emphasis is firmly on local design and craftsmanship …In the garden the heat smells of rosemary and jasmine.” Hindukush Heights has its own hydro electricity and the water into the hotel is gravity – fed from a mountain spring. A tastefully decor

ated dining room serves a variety of tasty dishes. Vegetables are supplied from the hotels own organic garden."

Mastuj Fort Wild Wellness ❤️ It’s not about joining a guided session or a retreat but about recharging your soul by immersing in the wonder of untamed nature … majestic mountains, crystal clear streams, pretty orchards … and now a small band of beautiful horses.

In the Hindukush Mountains, horses are part of everyday life. Woven through generations in tradition, ceremony, and culture. Symbols of freedom, strength, and spirit.

Horses have always been an integral part of our family and we’d like to share this passion with you. In Chitral, we offer horse riding for guests. Here in Mastuj, over meals or while lounging & reading, you can share space in our orchard and watch horses graze. If you’d like to feed them, they love that! Simply ask our friendly team and they will help you 🐴

Located 4 hours deeper in the Hindukush from Chitral, you’ll find that Mastuj Fort isn’t just a hotel. It’s a place to escape the world and find a quieter — more intentional — stay that will recharge you.

Kalash Valley ❤️ Come spend a day in Pakistan’s new UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List addition, here in the Hindukush Mountains. Placing the Kalash Valleys on the list is a DEEPLY SYMBOLIC achievement as it is the first time an entire indigenous community & its culture are being considered by UNESCO.

The three remote valleys of Bumburate, Birir, and Ramboor in the district of Chitral are home to 4,000 Kalash people. From village centres to distant alpine pastures, they embrace their culture with colourful festivals and celebrations featuring joyful music, dance, storytelling, ritual processions, and the wearing of distinctive traditional dress.

Our family has been taking guests to visit the region for more than 30 years. It is an amazing day trip full of culture, mouth-watering local cuisine, nature, and architecture that you’ll never forget.

DAY TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
A day trip to the Kalash Valley of Bhumburet includes a visit with an ancient pagan tribe that is now highly endangered (only 3,000 remain). The Greeks claim that this tribe is descended from Alexander the Great’s army. Sat at our restaurant is a decommissioned Fokker F-27, seen here through the amazingly talented eyes of cinematographer Yasir Khan (thank you, Yasir, we just recently ran across your stunning photos!) ❤️

FOKKER RESTAURANT
In 2004, it crash landed in Chitral and was acquired by our founder who was a passionate aviator before becoming a hotelier. We've relocated it just 6 minutes from the hotel, in the garden of our à la carte restaurant.

✈️ It is open to the public for lunch & dinner.
