Kathmandu: Renowned mountaineer Sirbaz Khan etched his name in history this morning by successfully scaling Mt Kangchenjunga (8,586 meters) without the use of supplementary oxygen, becoming the first Pakistani to summit all 14 of the worldโs eight-thousandsers in this pure alpine style.
The final ascent of Kangchenjunga โ the worldโs third-highest peak โ marks a milestone in Sirbazโs exceptional mountaineering journey that began over two decades ago in the rugged valleys of Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan. His accomplishment places him among an elite group of climbers globally who have completed this feat without bottled oxygen โ considered one of the most demanding challenges in high-altitude mountaineering.
Sirbaz had earlier completed his quest of summiting all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in 2024.
Hailing from Aliabad, Hunza, Sirbaz Khan started his career as a porter and kitchen assistant before rising through grit and training to become Pakistanโs most accomplished high-altitude climber.
