Important Health Message for Scouts, Parents, and Families

As part of our commitment to promoting health and well-being within our scouting community, we would like to bring to your attention the importance of preventing and managing conjunctivitis, commonly known as "eye flu." This highly contagious condition can spread quickly, especially among children.

What You Can Do:

1. Practice Good Hygiene: Encourage frequent handwashing, especially after touching eyes or face.
2. Avoid Touching Eyes: Remind children not to touch their eyes with unwashed hands.
3. Use Clean Towels and Linens: Ensure everyone uses their own towels and avoids sharing personal items.
4. Stay Home if Infected: If symptoms occur, keep your child home from school or scout activities to prevent spreading the infection.

Educate and Protect:

- Share information about eye flu prevention with fellow Scouts, friends, and family.
- Encourage children to adopt healthy habits.

Scouts and Guides Unite: A Collaborative Training Initiative

On September 5, 2025, the Ismaili District Boy Scouts Association for Central Region embarked on a notable initiative, participating in the Regional Guides Camporall at Gulshan e Fatima Society. The event brought together a contingent team of Scout Leaders, led by Mr. Sajid Ali, Regional Training Commissioner for Central Region, and Mr. Sameer Aly Shah, Regional Programme Commissioner for Central Region.

In collaboration with Ms. Dilshad, Regional Guides Trainer, the team focused on imparting valuable training to Girl Guides in essential scouting skills. The training sessions covered a range of topics, including Knots, Hitches, Bends, Lashings, Gadgetwork, and Pioneering.

This joint effort not only showcased the spirit of collaboration between the Scouts and Guides but also highlighted the importance of skill-building and teamwork. In a heartwarming convergence of passion and purpose, Fawad Alam, the shining star and Ambassador of Ismaili District Boy Scouts Association for Central Region, recently had the privilege of meeting the legendary Ms. Abida Parveen, the Queen of Sufi Music, at her residence. This meeting was a celebration of Sufi music and its profound impact on spiritual growth and cultural heritage.

During their engaging conversation, both Fawad and Ms. Parveen shared insightful reflections on the significance of Sufi music in fostering inner peace, love, and unity. They also discussed ways to preserve and promote this rich musical tradition for future generations.

In a special moment that showcased his talent, Fawad performed a spectacular rendition of a Sufi piece at Ms. Parveen's request. This impromptu performance not only delighted Ms. Parveen but also underscored the power of music to bridge generations and cultures.
