Open Call: Serlachius Residency 2027 | Mänttä, Finland
The Serlachius Residency, maintained by the Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation, invites applications from professionals working in the visual arts for its 2027 residency program.
The residency offers a calm and focused environment for artistic and research-based practice. Residents are hosted in Mänttä, with access to well-equipped studios and opportunities to engage the local public through small events and exhibitions. Admission to all residency events is free, and no rent is charged for accommodation or workspaces.
Residency Overview

Who Can Apply
Visual artists, art historians, researchers, and curators working within the visual arts field.
What Is Provided
• Rent-free accommodation at Einola, located on the grounds of Serlachius Museum Gösta
• Shared kitchen, bathroom, and sauna
• Access to studio spaces in a historic Art Nouveau building
• Five work rooms and a gallery space for small exhibitions or events
• Public programs that encourage interaction between residents and audiences
Artist Responsibilities
• Cover travel, living, and working expenses
• Submit a written report of at least one A4 page about the residency experience
• Optional submission of images or video documentation
