In 1952 the Aligarh Old Boys Association (AOBA) Rawalpindi decided to set up a number of schools on modern lines all over the country and to name them after Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. The main objective behind it was to revive in Pakistan as far as possible, the “Aligarh spirit” which since the days of Sir Syed has played so prominent role in the renaissance of the muslims of sub-continent. A survey was

carried out by the members of sub-committee of the Association, which visited as many as 22 institutions, where European type public schools were functioning, to study their set up. Following the foot steps of Sir Syed Ahemd Khan, the association decided in pursuance of the recommendations of the sub-committee to develop education system initially by establishing a school named “Sir Syed School”. The first Sir Syed School was established in Rawalpindi cantonment area in 1952 under the management of the registered body “Sir Syed Education Committee”. Mohammad Ayub Khan on 5th November 1952. It progressed rapidly and within one year enrolled about 350 students.
