We talk about leaving city and corporate life but we have never told WHY we changed our lives completely.

Meet Mustafa, our reason for everything. Our 5yo, non-verbal autistic little boy🩵. The reason why we chose to leave the chaos of cities behind.

In our hearts somewhere deep down we understood that our battles will be significantly different. For that we would need to have a life in which we can find the space to set our own pace.

So here we are in the mountains of Skardu, where nature allows the three of us to be still, to heal and to grow.❤️

We love Des Dastaan for giving us so much bounty every year!♥️

Jam & vinegars are already in our homemade products and now we are testing sundried tomatoes, apricots & cherries 🤩

When we planned this venture of ours, we had recently returned from the UK. Looking for a place we can call home.

From individuals to a family, from Lahore to Skardu, from corporate offices to a social enterprise our journey has been nothing short of a non-stop adventure with its own set of crazy challenges.

But we are here and God has been so kind to us at every step of the journey.

A road less taken has given us a home, comfort, love and immense happiness☺️

Life in remote area of Pakistan isn’t easy (not that it is getting any easier for those living in cities 😔). We struggle sometimes to get basic supplies in Skardu and almost everything has to be DIY.
But it’s still worth all of it when we realise that the things we miss dearly, when we head to the cities are: a clear sky full of stars, nature’s beautiful shifts and towering mountains to humble us.

Last photo is Nanga Parbat with a cloud halo on top, photographed it on our way from Skardu to Islamabad.

Closing 2024 with a beautiful ending to a wonderful year. Zaida, Shiraz and Farida were one of the most fun and most courteous guests we have ever had. We had mornings & evenings full of hearty laughs with discussions on every possible topic! Ranging from food, cats and architecture to economics😄

We are ever so grateful for their love, laughter and such beautiful gifts. They even got us the best Tom Yum paste, Sambal and many more spices which are now part of our Asian Spice cabinet ♥️

And a special thanks to Farida for teaching us how to make banana fritters and nasi lemak! So so yum🤤
We will miss you guys🥹
