Malam Jabba Ski Resort sits at 2,804 metres above sea level in the Hindu Kush mountains of Swat Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is Pakistan’s premier mountain resort and one of the most extraordinary places in the country regardless of the season you visit.
In winter the resort receives heavy snowfall from December through February and offers skiing, snowboarding, chairlift rides and a full range of snow sports on slopes that sit between 2,469 and 2,670 metres. In summer the snow melts and the mountains turn green in a way that most people who have only seen the winter version of Malam Jabba are completely unprepared for. From May through August the resort and the surrounding valleys get greener every week until the landscape looks nothing like it did in winter.
The resort offers a chairlift, zipline, giant swing, sling shot and hiking trails that take you above the tree line with views across the entire Swat Valley. Pearl Continental Malam Jabba is the only five star hotel in the mountains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and sits right at the resort. Samson’s Inn is three kilometres away for those who want a more affordable stay.
Getting here is straightforward. From Islamabad it is approximately 300 kilometres via the M1 Motorway and Swat Motorway to Chakdara, then along the N95 to Manglor where you turn right for the final climb to the resort. The drive takes around five hours.
Malam Jabba is a year round destination and summer is the season most people have not discovered yet.
