Rick Steves' New PBS Special on Poland Now Airing Nationwide​

As we first announced in mid-March, celebrated American travel expert Rick Steves has released a new one-hour television special focused entirely on Poland. The program, titled "Rick Steves' Poland, " premiered on PBS stations across the United States on April 1, 2025, and is now available for streaming on PBS.org and the PBS App. You can also watch the full episode here: https://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/video/tv-show/poland.

This beautifully filmed and thoughtfully narrated episode takes viewers on a journey across the country—from the lively streets of Kraków, with its historic square and royal castle, to the solemn grounds of Auschwitz-Birkenau, one of the most significant memorials of the 20th century. The story continues through Warsaw, a city of resilience and modern energy; Toruń, known for its medieval architecture and gingerbread traditions; the massive Malbork Castle, built by the Teutonic Knights; and finally, Gdańsk, rich in maritime heritage and the birthplace of the Solidarity movement.​

The documentary was produced by Rick Steves Europe and distributed nationwide by American Public Television. Known for making European travel accessible, educational, and engaging, Rick Steves brings the same insightful approach to this new special, offering a unique opportunity to learn more about Poland's past and present and experience its beauty, complexity, and spirit.​ The Polish National Tourist Office in Chicago was proud to support the production team during their preparations for filming.

Important notice for those who are planning on visiting AUSCHWITZ Museum in the nearest future. Due to the events of the 80th anniversary of Auschwitz Camp Liberation, the site will be ⛔️CLOSED on Sun 26th and Mon 27th January 2025⛔️

Instead of that, you can plan visiting a different site and More4U & Poland Tailored Tours4U are more than happy to advise you!

2024- 2025 CHRISTMAS MARKETS’ season is almost there and one of the largest and best ones in Poland is taking place (again) in WROCLAW- JARMARK BOZONARODZENIOWY 🎅🎄🎅🎄
The dates are official and the Wroclaw Christmas Fair will take place from Fri November 29th and will last until Tues Jan 7th 2025 including New Year's Eve and the Three Kings’ Day (holiday) ! 🎅🎄🎅🎄

The booths are normally open every day from 10 am till 9 pm (sometimes little longer- depending on weather conditions and occupation). The event is paused on Dec 24th and 25th , likewise on Jan 1st . On Dec 26th open from 1 pm . On Dec 31st (New Year’s Eve) the houses with handcrafted goods are open till 5 pm , food and beverages open till 2 am of Jan 1st.

It is located right in the old, historic city center of Wroclaw. 100’s of vendors, MULLED WINE, HOT CHOCOLATE, souvenirs, handcrafted goods, sox’s, scarves, hats, gloves and other clothes, groceries (cheeses, hams, bread etc. ) , drinks, all supported with tons of delicious snacks, food, desserts and a carnival for the little ones.

It is a must for all Christmas Market lovers!
