Vieques still, for the most part, has Municipal water supply. But the drought is extreme. before making a reservation, be sure to ask your host if they have water cisterns and solar backup systems. Our water and electricity is at risk. Casa de Kathy does have both. We also have storm shutters and other emergency equipment.

I came to Vieques in 2000 to protest the bombing practices by the US Navy in Vieques. I have been active in many community organizations. This photo shows the installation of a solar system for a family who has no electricity. This project accepts donations of money and equipment.
