Herdade do Pocinho is a cattle and foresting farm with 260 hectares of land. It is located in Alentejo, a sunny region in the south of Portugal.

It is situated 30 km outside Évora (UNESCO World Heritage City) and 6 km from Redondo, a small town known for its’ potters. The farmhouse is built in a traditional style, overlooking the surrounding countryside and the atmosphere is cosy and relaxed, ideal for families (maximum 8 people). Here the greatest luxury is to have time and space. You will have the chance to witness cork extraction, fish

in the dam, ride a bicycle, see a calf being born or to simply observe the behaviour of the animals in their natural habitat. In Herdade do Pocinho, nature is the Mother of all things!

A day on a farm, last saturday! Outdoor activity for the kids which included the history of the roman´s presence on the farm, a clay workshop,a treasure hunt and a nature to discover😃

No fim-de-semana colocámos as mãos na massa (leia-se: barro, terra, fruta, ervas,...). Foi uma tarde de explorações com a história sobre a passagem dos romanos nesta localidade.

This July, staying at the Pocinho Farmhouse Cottage means you can enjoy an amazing experience: the extraction of cork ! This will immerse you in the genuine experience of smells, colors and movement of the Alentejo region.

Once in every nine years we have the traditional cork extraction. Experienced artisans, that have passed their skills from generation to generation, will show you how cork can be cut from the tree without damaging it. A cork tree takes more than 35 years to reach maturity so these men are expected to have the precision of a surgeon while 'operating' under the hot Alentejo sun!

And the result of this interesting work can be more light and well-being!
