Craving a little wellness and zen under the Portugese sunshine? A short drive from Casa do Campo, you can while away an afternoon (or day) in the tranquil surroundings of Buddha Eden. Believe it or not, this is the largest Oriental Garden in Europe, containing lakes, manicured gardens, natural fields and woodland walks, peppered with stunning artwork and manifestations of Buddha. There are even 700 handprinted terracotta soldiers! With a cafe and restaurant on site, this is a wonderful 'secret' venue for exploring. Buddha Eden has an adjoining Quinta (vineyard) so you can even sample a locally produced vino in the sun. Perfect!
