As a small startup project in one of the industries most affected by current circumstances, we've been bending over backwards to figure out how to survive this economical storm ⛈

Following the advice of many of our partners including Airbnb and Booking, we have chosen to - and are somewhat financially pressurised into - downsizing ☀️

Downsizing has so many negative connotations, but in the spirit of positivity, we've decided to use this as a opportunity to re brand and diversify 💥

With now only ONE functioning guesthouse, Go Portugal Holiday Rentals will run under the name of Goofy Guesthouses 💙

We hope that with this decision we will still be able to provide the opportunity for our guests - though less in numbers - to take away some unforgettable memories from beautiful Baleal 🌊

In addition, we hope that this will give us the opportunity to improve the quality and variety of our services 💯

P.s. We're still waiting on Facebook to approve the change in name!

Super impressed with the calm and maturity with which these confusing times are being handled here in Peniche 🙏 It may not look like much, but it IS! TO ALL THOSE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE HERE DURING THESE TOUGH TIMES 🌊☀🙏

✔ The coastline of Peniche is now among one of the last in Europe to keep its beaches open to the public. Furthermore, surfing is still permitted for groups of 5 or smaller keeping a sensible distance from one another. I'm sure this shouldn't be too difficult, even for a super social surfer!

✔ The Portuguese government "only" put into force voluntary self-isolation for those with symptoms. We are still lucky enough to be able to wander the streets as far as appropriate social distancing is adhered to.

✔ Police are around to enforce these preventative measures, however the general attitude of locals is that of calm and maturity. People are getting about their days happily, even under these new and strange circumstances.

PLEASE RESPECT AND HELP OUR COMMUNITY REMAIN AS FREE AS POSSIBLE DURING THESE CRAZY TIMES BY SIMPLY KEEPING YOUR DISTANCE ✌ What a small price to pay 💯

Some crazy times we're living 🙈 If like many you're "stuck in paradise" due to cancelled flights or are wanting to spend this period of sensible isolation in a safe place, we're here to help ☀

For small businesses like ourselves, it's difficult to figure out how best we can contribute to keeping everyone safe while ending this situation for good 🙏

Following the ever changing circumstances and advice from WHO and local authorities, as of the 16th March we have put in place the below safety measures (subject to change):

✔ We will be closed until 12th April only honouring / receiving bookings from unrestricted areas, limiting capacity to one group per apartment.
✔ All cancellations due to the forced circumstances will be fully refunded.
✔ Our shared guesthouses will be functioning as single unit holidays rentals until further notice so as to keep our future guests safe by offering an opportunity to remain isolated.
✔ We'll be offering special rates during the crisis situation.

Watch this space for updates on our course of action. In the meantime: STAY SAFE, BE SENSIBLE, LOOK AFTER ONE ANOTHER AND WE'LL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER ☀✌

Sometimes all we need to do is just BE 🙏 Here's one of many red benches around Peniche to enjoy a good view 💯 Whether it's facing the ocean or an ambient side street, the Portuguese love to sit, soak it all in and watch the world go by...usually with a small beer or espresso in hand 🍺☕ On your holiday, why not find your favourite bench and taste the simplest of joys that make this place so magical ✨
