Hostel do Mar

Hostel do Mar is a small family-run Hostel in the centre of Carrapateira, about to open August 2016! Stay tuned! All this only a 10 min walk to the beach.

We offer a unique place to spend your holidays wether you are into surfing, cycling, beaches, food, birdwatching -or just the sun! We offer shared dorms or private bedrooms with/without private bathroom. A fully equipped kitchen, living room and a great terrace with views over the village. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Arena like Carrapateira is slowly Washington up from a long winter-pandemic-hibernation. At least the birds are awake! And we hope to open our doors 1st of June.

Last weekend we celebrated 4 years since HostelDoMar first opened its doors. This year with a much smaller party, our beloved team, lets hope we are here for many more, and larger celebrations! Last picture show how one can ‘blow out’ candles in Covid-times!

So our timings were impeccable, a large box of fresh HostelDoMar-merchandise arrived just in time for the corona-home-confinement! At least the home-kindergarten-uniform is taken care of! T-shirts and truckers are tested and approved! We hope you are all well, and looking forward to seeing you all when we reopen, safely and slowly, from July!

Dear friends and travellers!

Due to the current Corona-pandemic and following the advice from Portuguese authorities, we have decided to close the reception and our dormitories until further notice, just 15 days after reopening.
We apologise for any inconvenience, and really hope to be back in business sometime soon!
Most of the reservations have already been cancelled, but we will keep two of the private rooms open for now.
