Welcome in Portugal
Portugal has been added to the 'green list'. Yesterday Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, announced the traffic light system for a confirmed resumption of international travel from May 17.
Twelve countries have been put on the "green" travel list for people in England, meaning anyone returning will not need to quarantine from May 17 and Portugal is one of the twelve countries on that list!
With direct flights being available again between England and Portugal, and with no requirement of self-isolation when coming into Portugal, normal travel between England and Portugal is now possible again from May 17.
What to do when travelling to Portugal?
Once you have booked your tickets, it is necessary to arrange a PCR-test and fill in your 'Passenger Locator Card'. How does it work?
• You have to do a PCR-test before leaving England, and no more than 72 hours before travelling to Portugal. Request a test with a "fit to fly" certificate which can be done for as little as £80, with quick and reliable results in less than 24 hours.
• Fill in the Portugese "passenger locator" card before going to the airport. Best is to print the form and keep it with you. We know you have been waiting for this moment for a long time and you are looking forward to be back again in the Algarvian sunshine. We are looking forward to seeing you in the Algarve as well.
Enjoy your w-end and maybe see you soon in the Algarve!
