TOLERANCE
In October 2022, we received, with a mixture of excitement and nervous anticipation, the first bookings for our tourist accommodation project — 188 Apartments.
We had no idea what the future would hold. Whether the project would succeed, how our first guests would react and, above all, whether we would be able to meet their expectations. That has been our focus from the very beginning — living up to what our guests expect of us.
Four years have gone by, and this is the result so far:
- nearly 15,000 overnight stays
- around 5,000 nights booked
- approximately 600 reviews
- a rating of 9.6/10 on BOOKING.COM
- a rating of 4.96/5 on AIRBNB
Our apartments have welcomed around 2,000 people from 60 different nationalities (in this commemorative photo, taken today during IRONMAN Cascais 2026, we had guests from Iceland, Germany, Canada and England).
Louis D’Amore, founder of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism, once said that tourism is “the meeting of one human being with another!”
Travel allows us to discover different realities, cultures, beliefs, religions and people. Travel creates knowledge. Knowledge creates tolerance.
We once had a leader who governed us without ever leaving the country.
Perhaps what many of those who govern the world are missing is the experience of travelling.

A TOLERÂNCIA
Em Outubro de 2022, recebemos, com nervoso miudinho, as primeiras reservas para o nosso projeto de alojamento turístico - 188 Apartments
Não imaginávamos como seria o futuro. Se o projeto vingaria, qual seria a reação desses nossos primeiros hóspedes e, principalmente, se conseguíamos cumprir as suas expectativas. Esse tem sido o foco desde o início – estar ao nível do que esperam de nós.
Passaram 4 anos e este é o resultado, até agora:
- perto de 15.000 dormidas
- cerca de 5.000 noites reservadas
- aproximadamente 600 reviews
- Temos uma pontuação de 9,6/10 na BOOKING
- Temos uma pontuação de 4,96/5 no AIRBNB
Nos nossos apartamentos já alojámos cerca de 2.000 pessoas, de 60 nacionalidades (nesta foto comemorativa, tirada hoje - altura da prova Ironman Cascais 2026 - tínhamos islandeses, alemães, canadianos e ingleses).
Louis D’Amore (Fundador do Instituto Internacional para a Paz através do Turismo) afirma que o turismo “É a visita do homem ao homem!”.
As viagens permitem conhecer outras realidades, culturas, credos, religiões, pessoas. As viagens criam conhecimento. O conhecimento cria tolerância.
Tivemos alguém que nos governou, que nunca saiu do País.
Porventura, o que faltará, a muitos que governam o Mundo, é viajar.
