While in Faro, a live recital is a beautiful way to experience that heritage up close and discover the distinctive sound of this unique instrument.

The Portuguese Guitar Recital, performed by musician João, is a 30-minute multimedia experience combining live music with stories about the instrument’s cultural identity, its connection to Fado, its origins, makers, guitarists and future developments.

It’s a different way to discover Portuguese culture — through sound, history and emotion.

Daily sessions: 12:00, 15:00 and 16:30

When you stay at Cardeal, you’ll be conveniently located to explore the city. A great way to start is by joining one of the , departing from Arco da Vila.

There are two tours every day:

Summer: 10:00 am and 4:00 pm
Rest of the year: 11:00 am and 3:00 pm

Getting our apartments ready after another deep clean, celebrating a beautiful 10/10 review that we’d love to frame, and getting our guests ready for a monumental eclipse with special Cardeal glasses.

We also stopped by the tourist office to collect brochures, maps, and fresh ideas about our Algarve — helping our guests discover the region is part of the experience too.
