My name is Maria do Mar, I’m 20 years old, currently studying Creative Business in Breda and honestly, social media has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I was that kid obsessed with Musical.ly, video star… experimenting with videos before I even understood what “content strategy” meant. I just loved creating. Editing. Posting. Seeing what worked. Trying again.
I grew up around storytelling. My mum was a journalist and my dad a cameraman, so I spent a lot of time around cameras, editing rooms and production environments. Watching how stories were built behind the scenes always fascinated me. Without realizing it, I think I learned early that content is not just about posting , it’s about intention.
Later, when my family opened a hotel in Portugal, I naturally took over the social media. Creating posts, thinking about positioning, showing the atmosphere, making people feel something through a screen. That’s when I understood that I didn’t just enjoy social media , I wanted to work with it seriously.
Since then, I’ve worked in content creation for different brands, adapting tone of voice and understanding different audiences. At the same time, working in hospitality and events taught me how to stay organized, structured and calm in fast-paced environments ,something that I think is essential in an agency setting.
I love brainstorming ideas, building concepts, organizing content days and being part of a team that actually brings ideas to life. I’m not afraid to share ideas, and I’m always observing trends, but I also care about structure and ex*****on.
For me, social media isn’t just scrolling. It’s storytelling, psychology, strategy and creativity combined. And I genuinely love being part of that world.
